The Ambala Scientific Instruments Manufacturers Association (ASIMA) on its Golden Jubilee Anniversary
conferred the Life – Time Achievement Award on Dr. Anil Jain for bringing Technological Innovations in
Ambala Industry through Technology Transfer from National Research Laboratories to instrumentation
industry. The Award was presented by Mr. Vikram Choudhary, President ASIMA in the august presence of
Dr. Priyanka Soni, Deputy Commissioner, Ambala and Mr. Anurag Bakshi, Chairman, Haryana Export
Promotion Council in the Annual General Body Meeting of the Association.
Dr. Anil Jain steered the Association from inception to national heights during his Presidency in 1996-2004. He brought a renaissance in Ambala Scientific Instruments Industry by organizing the first ever industrial exhibition of instrumentation in Ambala Cantt. In addition, he introduced the culture of regular Governing Board Meetings and General Body Meetings; regular publication of ASIMA Newsletter, forging technology collaborations with national research laboratories
like the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and the Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh for the transfer of technology for producing state of the art instrumentation.
He signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad and brought experts for empowering the entrepreneurs through emerging business concepts. He brought cooperative tie – ups with the Chambers of Commerce in Punjab and Haryana. The Small Industries Development Bank of India provided funding to Ambala units for starting micro enterprises. A National Metrology Workshop was organized in Ambala Cantt in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi in the year 2023.
Earlier Dr. Anil Jain had been conferred the National Awards for Quality Products and Entrepreneurship. He has been conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Kurukshetra University. He obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Dr. Anil Jain has pioneered and designed critical Calibration Instrumentation for the calibration of Load Cells and installed them successfully for the prestigious Chandrayaan 2 & 3 Mission, Mars Orbiter Mission at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvanthapuram; AGNI – Il and AGNI – V Projects at the Defence Research and Development Laboratory, Jagdalpur and the High Energy Materials Research Laboratories at Pune and Nasik and Brahmos Missiles; and the Light Combat Aircrafts and Jaguar Aircrafts Projects at the Hindustan Aeronatutics Limited with active technical collaborations of the scientists of the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories and the Quality Council of India.
