About ASIMA

The Ambala Scientific Instruments Manufacturers Association (ASIMA) envisions Ambala as a Global Hub for scientific instruments manufacturing, driven by innovation, quality, and sustainability. Established in 1972-73 and registered under the Punjab Societies Act of 1860, ASIMA has played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and reputation of this industry. Today, ASIMA represents more than 350 manufacturing units, producing a large number of scientific instruments for educational institutions, research laboratories, healthcare worldwide. The Association has a strong and growing membership base of over 350 dedicated members, committed to advancing the industry.

S.P. Bhatia

Shri S.P. Bhatia entered the scientific instruments business in 1957. He believed in strong business ethics and quality manufacturing. Facing rejection from an existing association, he took the initiative to establish ASIMA, ensuring both dealers and manufacturers were represented. His company became a trusted name in supplying incubators, ovens, and electrical measuring instruments across India.
Shri C.P. Sharma

C.P. Sharma

Shri C.P. Sharma started as an electrical engineer and later founded his own business, manufacturing induction coils and alternators. He was known for his innovation and social work, motivating industrial development in Ambala Cantt. A prominent political figure, he also served as General Secretary and President of ASIMA, contributing significantly to the industry’s growth.

Krishan Lal Verma

Shri Krishan Lal Verma was one of the pioneering figures in the formation of ASIMA, bringing decades of experience in the scientific instruments sector. As the founder of Victor Scientific Industries, he specialized in producing high-precision laboratory equipment, setting benchmarks for quality in the industry. His dedication to uniting manufacturers and ensuring fair business practices was instrumental in establishing ASIMA as a trusted organization, fostering collaboration and growth among scientific equipment manufacturers in Ambala.
Hans Raj Aggarwal

Hans Raj Aggarwal

Shri Hans Raj Aggarwal played a key role in the establishment of ASIMA, contributing his expertise in the manufacturing of scientific instruments, particularly microscopes. As the founder of Unilab Microscope Manufacturing Co. Put. Ltd., he was dedicated to producing high-quality optical and educational instruments, strengthening Ambala’s reputation as a scientific hub. His leadership and commitment to industrial growth helped shape ASIMA into a platform that supports manufacturers and promotes innovation in the industry.

Life - Time Achievement Award

The Ambala Scientific Instruments Manufacturers Association (ASIMA) on its Golden Jubilee Anniversary conferred the Life – Time Achievement Award on Dr. Anil Jain for bringing Technological Innovations in Ambala Industry through Technology Transfer from National Research Laboratories to instrumentation industry.

Dr. Anil Jain steered the Association from inception to national heights during his Presidency in 1996-2004. He brought a renaissance in Ambala Scientific Instruments Industry by organizing the first ever industrial exhibition of instrumentation in Ambala Cantt.
