The Ambala Scientific Instruments Manufacturers Association (ASIMA) envisions Ambala as a Global Hub for scientific instruments manufacturing, driven by innovation, quality, and sustainability. Established in 1972-73 and registered under the Punjab Societies Act of 1860, ASIMA has played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and reputation of this industry. Today, ASIMA represents more than 350 manufacturing units, producing a large number of scientific instruments for educational institutions, research laboratories, healthcare facilities, and industries worldwide. The Association has a strong and growing membership base of over 350 dedicated members, committed to advancing the industry.
ASIMA has built a strong reputation, not just in India but across international markets, thanks to the visionary leadership, dedication and collective efforts of its members. The Association is committed to strengthening the scientific instruments industry by fostering innovation, improving standards, expanding exports, developing skilled talent, and collaborating with policymakers to create a supportive ecosystem for sustainable growth and global competitiveness. With an estimated annual industry turnover of approximately Rs. 1200 crore in 2025, ASIMA continues to be a driving force in innovation, with exports contributing around Rs. 300 crore to the global market.
ASIMA ensures transparency in its governance by maintaining open communication with members, regularly updating them on industry developments, financial reports and upcoming events. The Association actively collaborates with various institutions, universities, research bodies, and government organizations to bridge the gap between academia and industry, driving research and innovation. ASIMA has been instrumental in integrating industry-specific courses in technical institutes, developing a skilled workforce to meet evolving industry demands.
The Association fosters participation through industrial exhibitions, training programs, and workshops, strengthening its members’ competitiveness in the global market. It also emphasizes corporate social responsibility by organizing educational programs, medical camps, and initiatives to promote
environmental sustainability.
A major highlight of ASIMA’s initiative is the GLOBAL LAB EXPO, a premier platform for industry professionals to showcase innovations, explore new business opportunities, and strengthen global trade relations. Furthermore, ASIMA has launched its Digital Directory, a significant step towards modernization and industry-wide digital transformation.
